From the very beginning, the goal of L’Anmien has been to protect our environment and to lead the community down this same path. The Resort is extensively involved in environmental caretaking. No trees had been cut in building our resort. Even the used water is specially treated and reused to water our gardens. We have introduced an enormous number of equipment adaptations and procedures to save electricity, water, gas, paper and other natural resources. For example:

• Solar power to offset the hotel's energy use.
  
• The staff conducts energy and resource audits.
• Work has been done to increase the insulation of the rooms from the Sun’s heat.
• The efficiency of equipment is continuously being maintained.
• Light bulbs are being used throughout our resort.
• We centralized all kitchen operations to consume less energy.
• The resort ensures efficient heat transfer on all its pots and pans.
• We maintain a strict policy about not wasting food during preparation.
• All laundry equipment is operated at the recommended capacity.
• Our resort uses products which contain little or no phosphates or chlorine.
• The resort uses refrigerants with low ozone-depletion potential.
• The use of Halon and dry chemical fire extinguishers was stopped in favour of Carbon Dioxide units.
• The resort has implemented a successful waste-recycling system taking care of: glass, plastic bottles, cans, paper, cardboard, waste metal and wet waste.
• Staff is trained to save natural resources by means of stickers beside all light switches and taps.
• We conduct regular beach, hotel and road cleanups.
• We are training our staff with the use of environmental notice boards and displays.
  
• Inviting, special speakers and training sessions conducted by the hotel’s Environmental Committee .

L’Anmien is devoted to the cause of saving our environment and will continue along this path using education, awareness and action.
